Pesky Fly has what may be my favorite post of the day today. Informative, fun to listen to, and… well, that’s it. It’s the kind of post I wish I knew enough about a song to write.

I have to confess, I love the name Lola (though the Kinks–beloved as they are–ruined it forever). And I love showgirls. I particularly love showgirls who are named Lola (bonus points for actually being a girl). I even love bright over-the-top mid-century pop. But ol’ B.M. (so brilliantly initaled, he) just never turned my ticket.
