So, Kathy and the Butcher and I went through the house. Not the house next to the antebellum home in the flood plain, but the last one we saw on Monday.
The Butcher had the same half-smile I did after walking through it.
I’m trying to not get too excited, because lord knows this shit doesn’t work out. But I took pictures.

I believe I’d have to love it, too.
I’m cautious about the roof (you’re gonna need a new one in a bit, I believe), and I know you’ve talked to the neighbors about the flood plain on that creek.
Otherwise, I’d be smiling too.
And you have a dishwasher! It’s called The Butcher. (Seriously, get one of those portable ones. It makes good countertop acreage for festivities, too. Will it fit sorta behind the door?)
Congratulations on getting back into the search in a positive and hopeful way. I know it’s drained y’all.
Neat place. What’s that stone thing in the back yard? A fountain?
ps–where the hell is Clarksville Pike? I only know of Charlotte Pike… :)
Just FYI, we have a project in the loop to widen Clarksville Pike. It might get some of the yard if that house is on the highway.
Well I’m going to assume it’s the highway to Clarksville… :P
So B – it’s got a workshop AND a greenhouse?
And a fountain? Is that what that is?
I love the planters and plants around the house in the front.
The kitchen’s awesome.
Tubs can be cleaned. (Or replaced, not all that difficultly.)
Are you sure about the floor termite damage? Because I wish I could say that, but mine’s cat or dog.
I think it’s perfectly charming and it looks to me like just the place where you and The Butcher and Mrs. W. and the felines would be happy.
I really really love it.
If you go for it, I am rooting for this one. Really it screams B. even more than the one with the kickass fireplace did.
W. how wide? How far north?
