Courtesy of Tiny Pasture, we learn that Juana Villegas DeLaPaz was found not guilty of careless driving because her arresting officer…
…oh god….
…you remember how he kept her there at the arrest site for an hour? And you wondered what he was doing, maybe paperwork or something? Well….

see, this is why there ought to be a criminal charge titled “official incompetence”. to which the fact of “bloody-minded stupidity” would be an aggravating circumstance, and “officious and/or bureaucratic bloody-minded stupidity” a far worse one.
That arresting officer needs to be fired, he’s got to be about as incompetent as they come. Makes you wonder how many mistakes he’s made on how many other tickets he’s issued and how many other wrongful arrests he’s made in his career. Occifer – ur job, ur doin’ it wrong!
I have to say, this twist of events made me feel a little bad for the officer involved. I mean, if ever there were a case you did not want to have fucked up on, it’s got to be the case that’s getting national attention, right?
She’s still gonna be deported, right?
