I know people have the “Sweet Jesus what a bunch of racist fucks” angle of this story covered.
But I would just like to point out one small thing. Malia Obama is eleven. When you describe an eleven year old child as a “whore…” Well, let’s just remind you of how it works in the real world. In the real world, the rest of us don’t look at an eleven year old child and see a see a sexual person. We see a child.
When you look at an eleven year old and the insult that springs to mind is “whore,” you, at the very least, reveal yourself as a person who should never be left around children unsupervised.
Seriously.
The fact that that could come out of your mouth or spring from your keyboard says something very terrible about you, not that little girl.
Filed under: America how can I write a holy litany in your silly moo

I’m glad for the world that you exist. Good work.
Also, sorry we didn’t make it.
Happy Sunday.
Wow. What the hell?
and the story was written by a guy who advocates putting hate speech on right-leaning sites in order to cast them in a bad light.
How convenient.
Holy shit!
Ha, well, I don’t even know what to say to that.
It’s pretty fucking appalling.
@wizardpc the fact is that there was a thread at Free Republic calling an 11 year old girl a whore.
Kitty, I am in complete agreement. There is no excuse, no matter who wrote it or who the people were commenting, for any website to keep up a thread calling an 11 year old girl a whore.
I don’t want to lose sight of that.
But I also am floored that a journalist would be going on Kos and regularly advocating for people to pose as conservatives in order to generate outrage against them and that this very same journalist is the one who is reporting on this outrageous behavior at New Republic.
I mean, just where in the fucking moral universe are we where ANYONE is talking about a little girl in those terms or where we can’t even be sure those are someone’s actual sentiments or something someone is saying because they’re sure that’s what conservatives think?
I mean, yes, there’s going to be very little I agree with wizardpc about, but I have to tell you, if I had known before right now about Chris Parry’s belief in trying to make conservatives look as shitty as possible, I wouldn’t have posted this post.
And that’s really, right there, I think, the problem with advocating dishonorable tactics. Perry now has no credibility. If he did find what he says he found, that is appalling. But how can I have any confidence that Perry himself didn’t instigate that?
Hmmmm. That makes the guy despicable, but (a) doesn’t suggest that he’s the one who started that train of comments at Free Republic and (b) doesn’t let the commenters who participated in that thread off the hook. I mean, I’m pretty sure that if he’d shown up here at TCP and made that kind of comment about any of the Obama’s he would have gotten his head handed to him; yet somehow that didn’t happen to whoever it was that made such comments over at Free Republic.
NM, no, I agree. And I’m not at all advocating that the folks at Free Republic are off the hook or should be in any way.
But he could have passed the story along to a colleague who didn’t seem to be at the center such a large coincidence.
FreeRepublic, the Democratic Underground of the right….
i don’t much like DU myself — their idea of “moderation” is a bunch of whiny pissants getting to impose their whim, seems to me — but nobody in their right mind can compare DUers with freepers. that’s trying to equate limbo with inferno; that’s claiming a junior high popular-kids clique is comparable to bleedin’ bedlam.
I’d like to say I’m in utter disbelief, but there are people out there filled with hate. I’m sure not all of it was “manufactured” and do realize that the persona I created, in an attempt to appear legitimate, overstepped boundaries. I think those that really have these views are still substantial in number and the onus is on the editor of a site to make sure forums of hate speech are not created.
umm… why? better to air that dirty laundry in public where more sensible people can point it out, naming and shaming as we go.
The accusation that he supports posting racist things on right leaning blogs is here :
http://gawker.com/5312952/hate-speech-against-malia-obama-on-conservative-blogs
Which I find very unconvincing, as it mostly relies on his sig line, and one set of (stupid) acronyms that doesn’t even hint at that.
