I am a dotty person, in general. I’m covered in all kinds of dots of all sorts at any given moment–freckles, moles, zits, bug bites, etc. And my arms are covered by thick constellations of freckles, some of whom clump together into whole galaxies. And it was while exploring these galaxies that I noticed I have some what we might call “opposite freckles.” I am, in general, a very pinkish white person with some blue-green undertones. My freckles, in general, are brown.
But I’m getting spots, shaped like freckles, that don’t appear to be any color at all.
I don’t know what to make of it, exactly.
But it’s intriguing none the less. Once I also sprout my belly-cuke, I’m going to open a road-side attraction in my front yard and people can pay a quarter to look at the weirdness.

I think it is a future placeholder for an age spot. I have one right in the middle of the back of my left hand.
This amuses me because in the office the other day one older agent made the comment that she’s getting freckles for the first time in her life. Those aren’t freckles on the top of your hands, sweetheart.
But I kept my mouth shut and let her live her illusion.
I think TheHans is right. I have a couple of these on my hands and a couple on the tops of my feet.
Folks, you are making me feel like my road-side attraction idea is not going to have as many visitors as I might have hoped.
i refuse to call them “age spots” until I hit 40… for now, they’re “freckles”.
Oh, I have reverse freckles too! I forget what my dermatologist called them, but it’s a pretty common (and harmless) condition. Don’t start building the roadside stand just yet!
I got all excited by your title, thinking you meant freckles that match up on opposite sides of your body. I’m on the more be-spotted end of the freckle spectrum, but it still surprises me when I find a set of matching freckles in an odd spot, like up under my boobs. I haven’t seen these place-keeper freckles before – do we get a picture?
I look okay to be my age, but I have to admit, if you see my arms, they are a wasteland of hell. (Feeling my age today.)
Do you mean white spots? This could be a fungal condition! But you can also get sort of skin-coloured spots that are freckle-precursors. I know the skin cancer situation isn’t as bad in the US as it is in Australia, but keep an eye on them!
A fungus?! Jesus Christ, that would be so damn gross. Though, it would bode better for my road-side attraction than just having some white spots that a lot of people have.
I’m going to try to get a picture.
It’s a fungus, and both harmless and treatable. http://www.ehow.com/about_5117458_skin-fungus-causes-white-spots.html . The unhelpful advice that you can prevent it by avoiding excessive sweating cracks me up, but as someone who likes long distance cycling in summer I’m probably already half cracked already.
