Those of you who were around yesterday may remember that I linked to the past, which is creepy. Well, our very own Beth found such a creepy picture of her own ancestors. The hidden parent is pretty well hidden at first. But once you spot the fingers, it doesn’t take long to make out the top of a head and a shoe.
What the fuck? Did they just sit around being all “Well, we don’t have tv. What can we do to entertain ourselves? Let’s creep the fuck out of the future!” and, seriously, why are we not sitting around thinking of ways to creep out the future?

No, but you had to sit still for quite a while to have a photo taken way back when. Beth’s ancestral photo, at least, looks like a way to get a picture of young kids taken without coming out all blurry.
That is an awesome photo.
We don’t need to creep out the future. Hell, we’re doing a bang-up job of ensuring that the future will be full of such despair and agony that ‘creepiness’ would be a lighthearted respite.
When a relative sent me a batch of digital photos I didn’t pay much attention at first, but because this one was unidentified I looked more at the child’s eyes – (blue eyes, like crystal blue/almost clear in b&w photos – run thru my Dad’s family. I have them.) Studying the photo was when I noticed the hand.
I had no idea this was a thing – that there are tons of other photos with a parent (or adult) hiding to hold the children in place.
What makes you think we’re not?
