I have decided I’m going to learn the infamous zigzag afghan. They were ubiquitous in the 80s and have fallen out of favor because they just look so 80s-ish. But I feel like that’s no excuse. I can do all kinds of afghans. This is one I need in my repertoire.
I love zigzag afghans. I say it’s time to bring them back.

I think that’s a beautiful and rather modern looking afghan — not at all dated. It’s a lovely palette and the stripes are a nice width. You could probably play around with some overdyed yarns and get a really gorgeous effect.
They remind me of my grandmother. That was her go-to crochet design when she did afghans.
I really like the black/white version. It looks quite sophisticated, for an afghan.
