Yes, they are. I think they're now 2oz smaller than they used to be.

There was a change in packaging with most of the M&M/Mars candy brand a few years ago.

They switched from fun size and regular size to Mini, Fun size, Regular Size and King Size.

That repackaging was how they dealt with the rising cost of ingredients, that way they wouldn't alienate their main price point by making the "regular" bar cost too much.

And I feel stereotypical for knowing this much about candy.

Owchies!!! Did it just leave a puncture mark or did it go the huge insta-blood blister route?

The time I had a single cat claw to the face(hind foot hung in drawer pull) it was just huge, pop-up, under the skin blood blister. Explaining that for a week was not fun.

Inform your departmental supervisor that you will, from here on out, be paid $75 per hour for each hour that you spend doing IT instead of the job you were hired to do.

Thus sayeth the former de facto IT person for every job since college (30 years now!) who had to rebuild a network four times at a secretarial temp job because the boss kept opening infected attachments until I literally walked over and slapped his hands.

Holy brassieres.

We are so glad that neither of you were any more physically injured. (I don't guess we should speculate on the emotional injuries for you both.)

And re:

... it was the kind of night where you hope to run into old women with cigarette creases at their bright red lips and men with oil deep in the folds of their hands.

Thanks to that wonderfully evocative line, I immediately smelled my babysitter's waxy "Cherries in the Snow" scent AND the odor of the Comet cleanser that my mechanic uncle always tried to get the oil off his hands.

Nice writin', ma'am. As always.

Here's win-win: start installing Linux (I suggest Ubuntu) on every computer that exhibits trouble. This will likely get you out of being the IT person in record time. If it doesn't, at least you won't have any more viruses, malware, non-hardware-caused-crashes, users messing-up system files, etc. Caveat: I'm half-joking.

I learned while staffing a student computer lab that a sad number of people are impressed by one's ability to "fix anything" by restarting the machine. I was like a god, even though I had no admin privileges.

YOU don't want to be seen as non-compliant????...Oh, how inadvertently funny...your whole raison d'etre is to be non-compliant!
But you're right; you have to de-couple weight from health, and you are the one who is going to have to push your health care providers to think in those terms. Work towards a heart rate, a certain number of steps per day, weight training; a certain range of healthy blood pressure, cholesterol, etc. numbers. But NOT as a step in losing weight. As a step in making sure that your body can do what it needs to do to get through life.
As a former belly dancer (a slim one) who got fat (I swear I have heard people thinking, "Boy did she let herself go!!!") in her 40s, I have been on both sides of the fence. I don't allow anyone else to weigh me; when I go in to the doctor's office, and I'm asked to get on the scale, I say, "I don't do that." It always sends the nurse into a tailspin; she gets flustered, she says "I'll have to note that down," and I realize that if she doesn't write down that I won't weigh, she'll get in trouble if the weight is not noted. But despite my weight, I have good numbers: my blood pressure is low, for example. And my doctor sees that, and doesn't give me trouble.
Me, I like weight training. You can do it on your own, in your house, and it really pays off bigtime, esp. right at first, which makes it even more attractive.
