Things on the Verge of Being Amazing

Here’s a couple of pictures of the front of my afghan (which, at the time, was not fully pieced together) and the back of the afghan. Both sides have their own charm and I trust that Miss Plimco will find occasion to treat both sides as the “right side.”

Also, here are a couple of pictures of the plants. I think that either my sage has a fungus or is about to bloom. I think I might be seeing the start of some lavender blossoms, too.

Take a look at my peppers and see how the jalapeno makes me look like I know what I’m doing.

  1. Oh my god, B. – that afghan is fucking incredible! I want to EAT THE COLORS. Does it smell like Koolaid, or no? I especially like the white borders, nice touch.

    Congrats to you!!

  2. That afghan looks amazing, and I know that these photos don’t do it justice. I’ve seen some of those squares and these photos don’t convey just how bright and enjoyable the colors really are.

  3. It does smell faintly like Kool-aid! It does! And I can’t get over how cool it is, let me tell you.

I have a new goal and that is to go from looking a sheep square in the face to making an afghan from her wool. I don’t know how I will do this exactly, yet, but I want to meet the sheep, card, spin, dye, crochet, and make an afghan. That, to me, would be incredible.

  4. Sheep everywhere are fighting to be first in line to give up wool. They all want to be a part of such a fun project. Or maybe that’s just me. I think it’s gorgeous!

  5. Holy shit, Aunt B, that is just gorgeous! You should email a picture of it to Kool-Aid and maybe they’ll send you free colors for your next one. Or maybe they’ll send that big pitcher-man who can come bursting through your wall and say, “OH YEAH!” I love him.

  6. Kate, and can I just reiterate how incredibly easy dying the wool with Kool-aid was? Unbelievable.

Dr. J., what would be perfect is if I could have the Pitcher-man burst through Plimco’s wall to deliver it. I’ve got to go get some white this evening and finish it up. I’m so frustrated that I’m thisclose to being done and I can’t finish it up.

  7. Oh. My. Gracious. Seriously? That’s for ME???!!! It’s so… I mean… I’m speechless. Thank you. So much. It’s gorgeous. And I can’t wait for my first sniff and nap.
