A Thing that Made Me Smile on the Plane

Some folks behind me were talking about what kind of dog Obama should get and how to balance allergies with cute puppiness and whether a goldendoodle is the answer and the guy behind me goes “When I first met my husband, he had the most neurotic poodle…”

And I realized, living where I do, I have never heard a guy say that.

And it made me happy to hear him say it so matter of fact.

  1. That’s giving me a big attack of the smiles reading that.

Um, are there any poodles that aren’t neurotic?

  2. How delightful! Although, I caught it was a man speaking. And I caught the word “husband.” But I still had to read it a second time to catch that it wasn’t just the phrase “neurotic poodle” that made you smile. I thought “No neurotic poodles? Weird!” Slow today, I guess. :)

And I have to confess, when I first heard “goldendoodle,” I laughed so hard I couldn’t breathe. And then I realized it was a better name than “poo-retriever,” and then I considered that I might be a rather wrong sort of person…

    And THAT makes me smile.
