As soon as I finish this, I’m going to post a couple of YouTube videos that were the result of some questions I sent Gubernatorial candidate Kim McMillan. But, I kind of have to just say something first.
Kim McMillan made me cry.
I know I tease about the legislators that put forth the “Protecting you from lying bitchez” legislation, and I think we all remember how things went at Blogger Day on the Hill. But I don’t think I realized how my hackles were just kind of constantly in a position of “up” when it comes to politicians and Tennessee women until I heard a candidate talking about women, not like we’re a special interest group, but like we’re a bunch of citizens with diverse concerns and unique problems that need to be addressed.
I don’t know if McMillan can win or if she should win or what.
I do know that the bar has been set for how Democratic candidates in this state can and should be talking to women and about this issues that concern us.
I’ve now seen it done, so I know it can be done, yes, right here in Tennessee, and I’m kind of relieved and excited by that.
