Aunt B, this was perfectly reasonable. After all, where was NASA going to build the small earthen hovel in which those gals were to spend their unclean time?
I thought NASA had phased out the earthen hovel by ’63 and was on to some kind of plastic hovel, easy for transporting.

You also have to understand how much R&D time and money would have been allocated to menstruation mitigation procedures because it isn’t like women have spent forever working that out for themselves or anything.
