“I can honestly say that I look at President Obama and never think of him as a black man,” said Ramsey, R-Blountville. “I mean that. I look at him as a liberal Democrat who I think is taking the country in the wrong direction.”
I am not even kidding you. State Senator Ramsey a.) claims to not see Obama as a black man when he looks at him and b.) thinks that this is a good thing, a position that will inspire people to think that he’s not racist.
People, when you are using Stephen Colbert jokes as serious talking points… I don’t even know what to say.
That’s ok. When I hear Ron Ramsey talk, I don’t think of him as a fast-talking huckster auctioneer trying to pull a fast one on Tennessee families. I think of Ramsey as a crazy wingnut who can’t come up with a single policy to help Tennessee families through a severe economic crisis.
Ah, truthiness.
What can you expect from a teabagger? This is the sort of thing they expect to win over the teabagger vote. Take, for instance, a reply from Republican gubernatorial candidate and friend to TN teabaggers Joe Kirkpatrick to a remark made about his campaign schedule by a voter:

Smack, you faceless, nameless sack o’ poo. If you actually showed your face I am sure we’d see the nut-tickler stache on your face that’s been teabagged so many times that it would be hardly recognizable to yo momma
Chris Matthews.
Ben, you crack me up.
Well, bless their hearts. They just can’t help themselves.

This Ramsey guy apparently watches too much Hardball.
I actually was thinking that this would be a hilarious Hardball interview. “I forgot he was black.” “Well, I don’t even see him as black to begin with!”
