Click here if you want to read about state legislators sitting around speculating on who might suckle at his mother’s breast.
Luckily, sanity prevailed.
Still, there’s something really weird about grown-ass people sitting around being “But what about five?” “Oh, what about 35?!”
I give props to Mike Faulk for getting this passed out of committee without suggesting his fellow senators seek therapy.
I admire the restraint of the reporter for leaving the sentence at ‘”There are a lot of strange people in this world,” said Campfield,’ instead of: ‘”There are a lot of strange people in this world,” said Campfield, without a trace of irony.’
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.
@txmere: If you knew how you improved my day with that single sentence. I shall kiss your feets. (Speaking of “strange people,” and here *I* show up.)
May I also thank our kind hostess for facilitating such a morale-boosting discussion. ~curtseys~
HAHAHAHA txmere!
Did you see Campfield pop up in the comments section? I mean, if he really is that bad with his capital letters?
Also, I wondered if Watson was thinking of a particular situation. It seemed awfully…specific.
I know! I was like “What the hell kind of weird bars is Watson hanging out in?” I mean, I’m pretty sure that a drunk guy calling a woman “mommy” and sucking her breast in a bar is not related to that woman, but I could be wrong.
And, yes, my favorite thing about Campfield is how he seems to believe that anyone with any knowledge on anything who disagrees with him is somehow “illegitimate.”
But it is interesting, those comments, to see how many people believe the law is supposed to be a moral code and not a legal code.

I am stifling my “Princess Bride” quote because I think he knows exactly what that word means, and he uses it instead of calling someone a bastard because his mommy doesn’t want him to say that. Ahem.
Every day, in every way, the title of this post becomes more, and sadly, evident. Yes, Tennessee legislators, it’s so clear that your concerns are creating jobs and improving educational quality.
Sigh. For want of a closing-italics bracket after the first paragraph above, my point is lost. Feel free to delete said comment and this one, if you like, B.
Ha, well, I tried to be all clever and fix it. Let me try again.
Ta da.
You are SO getting a smooch for that, Clever Woman. Three, in fact.
Others, who might have preferred that you just delete my comments, may disagree. But they should still smooch you, too.
Heh.
