Down at the End of Lonely Street

Most of my co-workers are out today. I’m done with everything I have to do and now I’m sitting around wondering how long I have to sit here pretending to be busy.

I’m also thinking about the future. And what people want from each other.

And what I want from the world.

And whether I’ll get it.

Things I Did Last Night that I’m Not that Proud of

I let the dog eat the last of the potato soup, which wasn’t quite a whole serving and didn’t seem worth putting back in the fridge.

I moved a dog bed in front of the Butcher’s door so that the dog could sleep outside his beloved’s room in comfort.

I told the Butcher to just go ahead and take him to the park this morning so that I could sleep in.

And I did and it was glorious.
