We Found Sleepy John Estes

Here it is!

Sleepy John had his own lake the day I was there.

There are two churches right by each other. This one is the old black Baptist church. If you see it from this perspective, you’re standing with Sleep John.

This is the grave next to Sleepy John, which I believe explains why he was over here and not in the area with all the other Esteses. I think this must be a sister of John, but I can’t find her on the census.

I cut myself on her grave, so that’s the start of a horror story.

This is downtown Durhamville, Tennessee. Take the righthand road and, as you know, you can go to Brownsville.
